About
Born in Cambridge, MA and raised in the suburbs of Boston I was able to take advantage of local programs encouraging young artists. Determined to pursue a career in art, I was accepted and enrolled in Parson’s School of Design in New York City. After graduating I moved to Tunisia where I lived, worked , and raised two children with my husband. I still spend time there when not in the vicinity of Boston. My work has been shown internationaly and I have work in private collections in the US, England, France, Turkey, Switzerland, Sweden, Tunisia, and Italy. Regardless of my location, I continue to work as I maintain studios in both the states and abroad.

Statement
Regardless of having spent the last several years abroad, there is a consistency to my work whether produced in Africa or in the states. This is the serenity I get from being alone in nature . Immersed in my natural surroundings my attention is drawn to the boundless strength and the relentless determination to be. Although fragile, our environment displays a quiet resolve to thrive defiant of a constant and looming threat. These acts of endurance inspire me to reflect on the innerself which struggles to do the same. In a world of incessant noise and turbulant change the tranquility of nature offers a refuge, a sanctuary where the individual is free to be an individual and where defending uniqueness is irrelevant.
When approaching a blank peice of paper or white canvas, I have no preconcieved idea. After applying the materials in a rather haphazard way, I count on the paint’s qualities and characteristics to create a dialogue and the process becomes one of problem solving. I rely on intuition and sponteniety to draw out what it is I am starting to see and trying to portray, which common throughout, is an image of quiet stillness.
